Cloak and Dagger #8

Cloak dominates this striking 1986 cover by Mike Mignola and Terry Austin, his enormous dark cape billowing dramatically as gunfire erupts on all sides — muzzle flashes lighting up the chaos while figures scramble and fall around him. The small inset portrait of Cloak and Dagger in the corner adds a nice touch of polish to what is already a visually commanding composition. With Bill Mantlo writing and Mignola's bold, dynamic linework on interior art, issue #8 — titled "Vacation" — promises a anything but a restful read for Marvel's streetwise duo.
