Dagger trains with the X-Men and tries to fit in at Utopia but cannot change the fact that she is not a mutant. Cloak keeps leaving to visit his old Boston neighborhood to reconnect with his former life. A former girlfriend, Tia, turns him in to Strickland and his men who try to brainwash him into giving up his powers. Unable to get the X-Men interested in the plight of her partner, Dagger rides in to the rescue solo. Even when a few X-Men show up to help, she decides to leave Utopia and she and Cloak return to a condemned church in New York City to resume their pre-X-Men lives.
