“Showdown!”

In "Showdown!", the X-Men break free from their prison chairs and confront Magneto in his icy Antarctic stronghold. As the base collapses around them, lava floods the tunnels—leaving the team seemingly lost in the inferno beneath the snow. Written by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, with dynamic art by Byrne and Kieron Dwyer, and a striking cover by Arthur Adams, this 1988 classic delivers high-stakes action and emotional intensity.
