Nanny
Nanny is a robot caretaker created by the villainous Magneto to tend to the X-Men after he stripped them of their powers and reduced them to childlike states, keeping them docile and imprisoned aboard his Antarctic base.
Debuting in the pages of The X-Men #112 in 1978, Nanny is a Bronze Age Marvel creation born from the celebrated partnership of Chris Claremont and John Byrne — two of the most influential architects of the X-Men's golden era. This character has quietly persisted across an impressive 46-year span, appearing most frequently in The Uncanny X-Men and Classic X-Men alongside some of Marvel's most iconic mutants: Storm, Colossus, Logan, and Hank McCoy. With X-Men team affiliation and at least one collector-recognized key issue to their name, Nanny is a fascinating piece of Bronze Age X-history that rewards the dedicated fan digging into the rich, layered continuity that Claremont and Byrne built together.
