Civil War Chronicles #1
"Civil War Part One of Seven" kicks off Marvel’s landmark 2007 event with a brutal explosion that leaves a city in ruins and a nation reeling. As the New Warriors clash with four villains, including the devastating Nitro, the government moves to register all superheroes, fracturing the hero community and igniting a deep rift between Iron Man and Captain America. Mark Millar’s gripping script, brought to life by Steve McNiven’s dynamic art and Dexter Vines’ sharp inks, sets the stage for a conflict that divides allies and tests the very meaning of heroism—cover by Michael Turner.

The New Warriors take on four super baddies. Nitro explodes, killing 600 people and wrecking part of the city. The government responds by proposing a bill that would require all "superheroes" to register and work for Uncle Sam. The Human Torch is beaten outside of a nightclub. The heroes gather to discuss the new bill and there is a definite split between them. Cap meets with Director Hill of SHIELD and finds himself in conflict with the spy organization. Iron Man tells the president to go ahead and pass the registration bill and he will take care of the dissenters. The Civil War has begun.
