“Blood in the Waters”

In "Blood in the Waters," a haunted former CIA agent driven by grief and trauma wages a violent crusade against dolphins, believing them responsible for his wife’s death. When Johnny encounters the Ghost Rider in the midst of this escalating vendetta, the tide turns in a shocking twist as the very creatures he’s hunting come to the rider’s defense—facing down a monstrous 20-foot great white shark. Written by Bill Mantlo and illustrated with gritty intensity by George Tuska, with inks by Vince Colletta and colors by Janice Cohen, this 1980 Marvel UK pocket book features a cover by Gene Colan and Tom Palmer that captures the story’s eerie, high-stakes tension.
