“Getting Rid Of Reggie!”

Marvel's teen humor scene was in fine form in 1970, and Chili #14 — "Getting Rid of Reggie!" — captures the comedic spirit perfectly with Stan Goldberg's lively cover art. The scene says it all: Chili, phone in hand, is thoroughly occupied with a very enthusiastic blond fellow who has swept her right off her feet in the doorway, while the speech bubble pleads, "Talk faster… I think Reg is getting impatient!" A stylish illustration of Chili in green anchors the top corner, rounding out a cover that's breezy, fun, and full of the romantic chaos that made this series such a charming corner of the Marvel lineup.
