Charlton's frontier hero rides straight into danger on this June 1958 cover, painted in warm sunset oranges and yellows by Rocco "Rocke" Mastroserio. The Cheyenne Kid, dressed in blue and mounted on horseback, picks his way through a narrow canyon pass — while looming in the foreground, a rifle, a tomahawk, and a decorated Native ceremonial drum hint at the war-party tension surrounding him. It's a wonderfully atmospheric piece of Western comics art, priced at just a dime and carrying the story title "War-Party" inside.
