“Flambe, part 5 of 5”

This Will Eisner Award-winning series wraps up its "Flambe" arc with issue #20, and Rob Guillory's cover art frames the moment with something genuinely striking — a woman rendered in a stained-glass style, haloed and robed like a saint, cradling what appears to be an ornate wooden box with a glowing egg-like object inside. Two smaller figures flank her below, one looking puzzled and the other with unsettling red eyes, all composed within a gorgeous mosaic of color. John Layman's Eisner-recognized series has always blended the weird and the wonderful, and this closing chapter of "Flambe" promises a fittingly offbeat finale.
