“[Last Days, Part Three] Through a Glass, Darkly”

In "Last Days, Part Three: Through a Glass, Darkly," the Challengers of the Unknown confront a mystery rooted in forgotten years, as Rocky reveals how Ace, Red, June, and the Prof vanished—tied to Dr. Carcosa’s experiments with Tesla fields and Earth’s electromagnetic forces. With Saxon the Anti-Challenger sabotaging power generators and the nuclear reactor destabilizing inside the field, Clay, Kenn, and Brenda arrive in a car suspended mid-air, just as the old Challengers vanish into the growing light and the facility explodes. Written by Steven Grant and illustrated by John Paul Leon, with inks by Shawn Martinbrough, colors by Matt Hollingsworth, and letters by Ken Lopez, this issue features a cover by John Paul Leon and Shawn Martinbrough that captures the tension and scale of the moment.

Rocky explains how Ace, Red, June, and Prof vanished for years: Dr Carcosa experiments with Tesla fields and the Earth's electromagnetic fields. Meanwhile, Saxon the Anti-Challenger is shooting up generators. Clay, Kenn, and Brenda appear with their car in mid-air. Due to Saxon's damage, the nuclear reactor is running wild inside the Tesla field. Slate's twin brother drags Saxon into the field and the old Challengers walk into the field's growing light. Clay grabs Rocky and the new Challengers run. The facility blows because the old Challengers shut down the reactor and they're lost somewhere.
