DC's gritty urban vigilante series delivers a striking image in this December 1993 issue: a figure in military-style fatigues hangs upside down from a rope beneath a steel girder structure, hands bound, with flames erupting ominously at the bottom of the cover — a scene that makes the story title "Hangman" feel almost understated.
