“Vampire State Prologue”

"Vampire State Prologue" kicks off a chilling chapter in the Captain Britain and MI13 series, written by Paul Cornell and illustrated by Leonard Kirk, with inks by Jay Leisten and colors by Brian Reber. As the MI13 team briefly unwinds—Cap and Pete on a double date, Spitfire and Blade hitting the bar, Dane and Faiza flying to Wakanda for a reunion with Storm—Dracula’s ominous declaration to claim England as his own sets the stage for a terrifying invasion. The cover, by Stuart Immonen, captures the dark tension as Dracula’s moon-based assault begins, targeting the team one by one—and then turning his sights on Faiza’s family.

Dracula informs Dr. Doom that he plans on taking over England as his own country. The MI13 team takes some time off to relax. Cap and Pete double date. Spitfire and Blade hit the bar. Dane and Faiza fly to Wakanda where Storm gives the Black Knight his Ebony Sword back. Their relaxation is short lived, however, as Dracula launches an attack squad of vampires from his base on the moon to blow up individual team members. Then Dracula pays a personal visit to Faiza's family.
