Nathaniel embraces his life as the "new" Captain Atom, who according to the backstory created by Eiling was created when struck by quantum energy the "old" Captain Atom exploded. In his new secret identity of Cameron Scott, he hires a private investigator to track down the son he fathered with Takara. Meanwhile, Nate is asked to assist with a death row prisoner who was struck by quantum energy when the "old" Captain Atom exploded and has been in suspended animation since. However, when Captain Atom tries to free the prisoner, he exhibits his own quantum powers and escapes.
