Steve Rogers returns from England and quits the ad agency. Nomad visits Madcap on Coney Island. He learns that Madcap gained his powers when his church group's bus was in a crash with an AIM vehicle. The crash killed the rest of the members and drove him insane. But Madcap survived thanks to exposure to the AIM chemicals being transported. Nomad defeats Madcap by himself and decides to quit as Cap's partner in order to become his own hero rather than working in Cap's shadow. Sidewinder frees Cobra from prison and makes business offers to other villains.
