Sidewinder
Seth Voelker was a former government operative who gained a teleportation-enabling cloak through the Brand Corporation, a Roxxon subsidiary. Taking the alias Sidewinder, he turned to a life of crime and later organized a collective of snake-themed mercenaries.
Slithering out of the Bronze Age in 1980, Sidewinder made his first move in Marvel Two-in-One #64, brought to life by a powerhouse creative team that included Mark Gruenwald, Ralph Macchio, and the legendary George PΓ©rez. A card-carrying member of both the Serpent Society and the Serpent Squad β Marvel's reptilian rogues' galleries β this villain has spent decades keeping dangerous company, sharing pages with the likes of Anaconda and, most tellingly, Captain America himself across the series where he appears most. With three key-issue appearances to his name and a publishing history stretching all the way from 1980 to 2025, Sidewinder is a Bronze Age original who has proven far more enduring than his modest appearance count might suggest β a cult favorite for collectors who love their Marvel villainy with a little cold-blooded style.
