Candy, America's favorite teen-age girl, navigates multiple romantic and social situations across the issue's stories. In one sequence, she spends time with Ted Dawson at home while his parents are away, then later attends an outing to Dover's Lake with friends where an older man nearly drowns after jumping from a diving platform. The issue also includes a storyline where Candy and friends plan a masquerade dance at the Roadside Club, and another segment featuring a square dance evening at school where she encourages friends to participate in the activity.
