“Matador Moose”

In "Matador Moose," Bullwinkle finds himself in a wild predicament when Boris, under Fearless Leader’s orders, sabotages a routine haircut into a high-speed chase involving a runaway subway train. With moose-hair at the center of a bizarre espionage plot, the usually bumbling moose narrowly escapes disaster—only to face a new twist when Boris unexpectedly stages a subway strike to keep him alive. Written by Al Kilgore and colored by the Western Publishing Production Shop, with full cover art by Al Kilgore, this 1962 Dell classic delivers classic cartoon chaos with a touch of absurd patriotism.

Boris is under orders to obtain a sample of high-strength moose-hair for Fearless Leader. When Bullwinkle goes for a haircut, Boris takes the place of the barber, snatches up a falling moose-hair, and sends Bullwinkle careening toward certain doom in the form of an oncoming subway train. When Fearless Leader orders that Bullwinkle be kept alive as a future source of moose-hair, Boris stirs up an impromptu subway strike to spare the moose.
