Fearless Leader

Fearless Leader is the shadowy supreme commander of the spy organization KAOS in the Rocky and Bullwinkle universe, issuing orders to bumbling agents Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale as they repeatedly attempt to outwit a moose and squirrel from Frostbite Falls.

Straight out of the Silver Age, Fearless Leader made their comics debut in 1962's Bullwinkle #01-090-209, brought to the page by creator Al Kilgore for Western Publishing. This sinister figure inhabits the wonderfully absurdist world of Rocky and Bullwinkle, keeping villainous company with the likes of Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale while crossing paths with beloved icons like Bullwinkle J. Moose and Dudley Do-Right. Though their catalog footprint is a compact six appearances — spanning titles like Rocky and His Fiendish Friends and the delightfully offbeat Bullwinkle for President in 3-D — the character's presence stretches across an impressive arc from 1962 all the way to 2014.
