The final issue of Bulletproof Coffin: Disinterred closes out this mature-readers Image series with a cover that's equal parts unsettling and darkly funny — a grinning, white-faced clown in a stars-and-stripes costume stares out from a hot-pink background, his cracked makeup and yellowed teeth giving the American showman aesthetic a genuinely creepy edge. Shaky Kane's bold linework and flat colors make the image pop with the kind of pulpy confidence that defined this six-issue run in 2012. If the story "Hole" delivers even half the strangeness promised by this cover, readers are in for a wild finale.
