Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Angel #3

The third chapter of "The Hollower" arrives in fine style with a cover by penciler Jeff Matsuda and inker Danny Miki that puts Angel front and center — brooding and blade in hand — as he shields a wide-eyed Buffy from a massive, clawed creature looming at the edge of the frame. The tension between the two leads and that lurking, taloned threat captures everything fans loved about this pairing in 1999: supernatural danger wrapped around a complicated relationship. Chris Golden's story, brought to life interiorly by Hector Gómez, Sandu Florea, and Guy Major, makes this a satisfying Dark Horse entry in the Buffyverse.
