Buffy the Vampire Slayer #42

Wrapping up the "Ugly Little Monsters" trilogy, this 2002 Dark Horse issue puts Buffy front and center, confidently juggling a swarm of grotesque skull-faced, insect-like creatures while two alarmed onlookers — a wide-eyed young man and a startled blonde woman — react with understandable horror in the background. Jeff Matsuda's cover work gives the whole scene a lively, almost playful energy that balances the genuine creepiness of those snapping little monsters beautifully. With Tom Fassbender and Jim Pascoe on script duties and interior art by Cliff Richards, this is a satisfying chapter for any fan of the Slayer's comics adventures.
