Buckaroo Banzai #1

Marvel's official comics adaptation of the 1984 film kicks off with this first issue of a two-part limited series, and the cover by Texeira and Gil sets an appropriately ambitious tone. Buckaroo Banzai himself dominates the foreground in close-up, while behind him a woman in a pink dress, a group of armed allies in blue-and-yellow gear, and a strange alien vessel in the upper corner hint at the wild mix of action and science fiction waiting inside. It's a confident, jam-packed composition that makes a strong case for picking up both issues.
