Charlton's Brides in Love serves up romantic tension at its most charged with this February 1959 issue, cover-penciled by Charles Nicholas and inked by Vince Colletta. The cover pulls you right into the drama: a blonde woman in a pink dress and pearl necklace leans into a dark-haired man's kiss, cocktail glass in hand, while a stern-faced man in a brown suit watches from the doorway — his expression leaving little doubt about how he feels. With the interior story "Love for a Stranger" waiting inside, this is a fine example of why Charlton's romance line had such a devoted readership in 1959.
