Boy Loves Girl #39

"They Called Me The Office Icicle" follows a young woman who went to college to focus on her education rather than romance, only to find herself working in the same office as Mack Shelton, a man from her hometown whom she initially dislikes. As they work together, her feelings change, and when Mack asks her on a date, she accepts. However, Mack's coworker Bill Langton begins spreading rumors about her character to win her affections, poisoning Mack's perception of her and sabotaging their relationship. The story concludes with the protagonist lying awake, conflicted between her growing feelings for Joe and the desire to win back Mack's trust and affection.
