Boy Comics #38 is an anthology featuring multiple stories. The lead story, "Crimebuster," involves Don Romano investigating the death of a woman at a film studio; he discovers that actor Lovino caused an accidental death and then attempted to cover it up by staging the scene to look like an accident. A secondary story follows a boy who receives tall-growing trees from a mysterious source and attempts to retrieve them before they can be used for nefarious purposes, ultimately capturing them in a flying craft. The issue also includes "Famous Eccentrics," featuring historical oddities such as Leone, an Athenian woman known for her long tongue, and Tricongius, a Roman who could drink from a human tank without breathing.
