Blue Book #5

From Dark Horse Comics, Blue Book #5 brings the unsettling atmosphere of this UFO-themed series to a striking close with a cover by Michael Avon Oeming rendered entirely in moody blues and blacks. A man in a dark suit and a woman with an anxious upward gaze loom large over a classic flying saucer, which bathes a lone car below in a downward beam of light beneath a star-dotted, cloud-streaked sky. The whole image has the feel of a mid-century paranoia dream, and with James Tynion IV writing and Oeming handling every visual element, "And I Have Been Promised It" sounds like a suitably ominous note to end on.
