Sergeant Spook and Jerry Learn discover an orphanage haunted by ghosts and investigate the mystery. They find a map leading to the Whitefields burial crypt, where they encounter Freezum, a supernatural entity who escapes through the building. After a confrontation involving a horse and a jockey, Freezum is defeated. The next morning, the boys search for Jerry, discovering he overslept, and later find a boat missing and the power plant sabotaged, ending with an explosion.
