On Colonel Tarbes' suggestion, the Cheyenne Kid rides out and joins up with Geronimo's tribe to maintain the peace he had earlier forged with him. The peace is threatened as two traders, Barlow and Pasch, pistol-whip a lone Apache. Cheyenne and Geronimo track them down, find them among a troop of soldiers headed by Lieutenant Turner, and meet out a just punishment to both of them. Cheyenne tells Turner to let the colonel know he likes his assignment just fine and rides off with Geronimo and his men.
