An anthology issue featuring two stories: "Swift Deer and the Russian Bear," set in 1812 at Fort Sitka in Russian Alaska, depicts a conflict between Russians and Native Americans over fur supplies, with Swift Deer fighting to prevent Russian expansion into North America. "Grey Wolf and the Sacred Ruby of Amad-Re" tells of an ancient prophetic tale related by a storyteller involving the noble Grey Wolf, the golden Aztec chieftain Amad-Re, and the Kiowa and their leader Chief Thunder Cloud, with Grey Wolf challenging Amad-Re to a deadly confrontation. The main story features Buffalo Bill facing "The Grim Hand of Death" as his greatest challenge while on horseback.
