Two armed figures look impossibly small beneath a canopy of massive, clawed toes dangling from above — Brian Churilla's cover composition uses that shocking scale contrast against a blazing magenta background to immediate, unsettling effect. The sense of dread is palpable: whatever creature looms overhead dwarfs these soldiers completely, making their weapons feel almost beside the point. With Wendell Cavalcanti on interiors and Antonio Fabela's colors throughout, Blackacre #3 continues to signal that this Image series has a genuinely distinctive vision.
