The first tale concerns Mrs. Rogers, who recounts to Martha a strange occurrence: years ago, a dwarf apple tree mysteriously appeared in her back yard bearing lightning-struck branches, and a grandfather clock went missing from her hallway, events that remain unexplained. The second story follows theater producers planning to cast an actor named Ernest Holly—a dead ringer for the deceased Method actor—in a play, but discover the casting may bring unexpected supernatural consequences when they learn of Holly's neurotic connection to the role and the play's dark history.
In "Jack the Ripper," a skeptical American travels to England to debunk rumors of the infamous killer’s return—twenty years after his death. When local police warn him off, he ventures to the grave site himself, only to face a chilling resurrection that ends in tragedy. The tale’s grim cycle continues, as news of the murder inspires another to seek the truth—no matter the cost.
In "Vampire at the Window," a man desperate for answers turns to a private detective after catching a glimpse of a vampire outside his window—only to discover the investigator shares the same deadly secret. The tension mounts as suspicion twists between the two men, each hiding a truth darker than the shadows they dwell in.
In "Man with a Tail," a man born with a rodent-like tail finds unexpected kinship at a carnival freak show when he meets a woman whose tail bears feline traits. Their moment of connection is charged with quiet wonder—until the atmosphere shifts, and the bond they’ve found takes a dark, unsettling turn.
In the fog-laden cliffs of Galleon Bay, a lone fisherman fights for his life against the storm-lashed sea—only to be pulled from the waves by the Heap, a figure of quiet mystery. As the man gasps his thanks, the Heap’s eyes lock on something beneath the churning water: a massive, ancient egg, pulsing with unnatural life. The village Squire, ever watchful, sees opportunity in the fear spreading through the townsfolk—and with his gang, he plans to exploit the legend of the sea serpent to claim a long-lost treasure ship just beyond the breakers.
