Black Fury #5 is an anthology issue containing three stories: "Boxcar Benny," a humorous short about a vagrant seeking a meal; "Portrait of a Horse," a Red Roan story following cowhand Fred Martin, who is robbed of fifteen hundred dollars by strangers at a hotel after picking up payment for cattle delivery, and must pursue the thieves; and "American Indians—Their Bows and Arrows," an educational feature explaining the historical development and construction of Native American archery equipment, from materials selection through the sinew-binding and leather-wrapping techniques used to create functional bows.
