Black Fury #34 is an anthology issue containing two stories. The lead story depicts a conflict involving a black stallion named Black Fury, a mighty warrior horse, and a group of men who battle against enemies while Indians retrieve their wounded and capture the buffalo with them, ultimately recognizing Black Fury as their savior. The second story, "Gregory's Diggings," is a text feature recounting a firsthand account of a journey to the Rocky Mountains during the gold rush era of 1859, detailing the hardships of travel, mining operations, and encounters with frontier dangers. Additionally, the issue includes a comic story about a boy named Billy and his relationship with a beautiful blue stallion horse, showing their bond developing over time as the horse becomes stronger and Billy's father places a reward poster for the animal.
