Birds of Prey #72

The cover of Birds of Prey #72 makes a striking impression: a glowing-eyed, seemingly possessed figure looms large in the foreground, her face partially obscured by dark, tendril-like organic forms, while a determined Vixen crouches below, alert and ready to spring. Greg Land and Jay Leisten craft a genuinely unsettling image that sells the issue's tagline — "Vixen's on the prowl — and Oracle's Possessed!" — with real visual punch. Writer Gail Simone was in fine form throughout this 2004 run, and this chapter of "Between Dark and Dawn" looks like no exception.
