“National Guardians”

A team of heroes descends on a massive green brute in the middle of a city street — a blue-and-yellow caped figure with a bold "U" on his chest grabs the creature while a B-emblazoned hero behind him declares "You're under arrest!", with a white-haired flying heroine and a third teammate rounding out the pursuit. Rich Buckler's cover sets the stage for "The Battle for the Fourth Dimension!" with sharp, kinetic energy that feels very much at home in Image's 1997 lineup. Featuring a Savage Dragon crossover teaser and the story promise of "Terror at Time's End!", this issue of Big Bang Comics looks like a satisfying action-packed read.

Still on Earth-B, Dragon winds up in Korea during the war in 1952 and is caught in a land-mine explosion. Waking up in a hospital, his nurse turns out to be Venus, who is much more understanding and reasonable than most of the male heroes he's had encounters with. They trade info before he moves on.
