Betty & Veronica (Jumbo Comics) Double Digest #278
In "Too Many Weatherbees!", Veronica's jealousy over Archie favoring Betty's gifts takes a delightfully over-the-top turn when she impulsively buys a diamond-studded platinum knife—just for spreading caviar—at La Snobbe Shoppe. After a moment of self-doubt, she convinces Betty to swap gifts, setting up a classic Archie-style mix-up with a splash of high fashion and comedic tension. Written by Frank Doyle and brought to life with Dan DeCarlo’s signature style and Rudy Lapick’s crisp inks, this Double Digest gem features Jeff Shultz’s sharp cover art and Bill Yoshida’s clean lettering.

Veronica and her dad discuss how Archie always likes Betty's (cheaper) gifts better than Veronica's gift. Veronica is unable to bring herself to buy anything in Betty's price range, and promptly buys a diamond-studded platinum knife ("for spreading caviar") at La Snobbe Shoppe. Veronica then stops by Betty's and convinces her to switch gifts, so she ends up giving Archie the more expensive gift.
