Part 1," Veronica ropes Betty into a beach day with a twist—her friends are all babysitting, so they bring the kids along. With Betty on lifeguard duty, the day starts with high hopes, but things don’t quite go as planned. Written and illustrated by Dan Parent, with inks by Rich Koslowski, colors by Barry Grossman, and letters by Jack Morelli, the cover by Dan Parent captures the sunny chaos of the moment.
In "Good Work If You Can Get It! Part 1," Veronica convinces Betty to join her at the beach, hoping for a fun day—only to find herself roping in all their kids when Betty, as the local lifeguard, agrees to keep an eye on them. What starts as a carefree outing quickly turns into a messy, chaotic day for Betty, who’s left juggling kids, sunscreen, and her own lack of leisure.
In "Good Work If You Can Get It! Part 2," Jo and her friends try to turn a beach day into a perfect summer outing—only to find their plans upended when they hire lifeguard Myrtle, who quickly takes charge with surprising authority, turning the usual fun into a surprisingly structured (and slightly chaotic) beach day.
