IDW's 2007 adaptation of the Old English epic comes alive in this richly painted cover by Mark A. Nelson, which layers three vivid scenes across a swirling backdrop of deep blues and golds: the brooding, long-haired warrior Beowulf looms large in the background, while a golden-skinned woman reclines entwined with a massive serpentine creature in the foreground, and a muscular figure raises a blade against a fanged, tentacled monster amid crackling lightning at the water's edge.
