Batwoman #3
Part of DC's New 52 initiative, Batwoman #3 (January 2012) continues the "Hydrology" arc with a cover that plunges us into swirling, churning waters. J. H. Williams III's cover art depicts Batwoman — striking in her red-and-black costume — locked in a fierce mid-air struggle with a blonde woman wielding a pistol, while the ghostly, wide-eyed face of a supernatural figure looms from below and skeletal visages loom above, all surrounded by the haunting, bubble-drifting word "dead." Writers Williams and W. Haden Blackman, with colors by Dave Stewart that give the aquatic chaos a vivid, otherworldly glow, have crafted an issue that promises mystery and danger lurking just beneath the surface.
