Batwoman #19
Part of DC's New 52 initiative, Batwoman #19 arrives in June 2013 with a cover by Trevor McCarthy that's genuinely hard to look away from — Kate Kane stands white-faced and blood-drenched, red cascading from her gauntleted fist against a smoldering amber sky, the tagline "A Tale of Blood…" leaving no doubt about the tone ahead. The stark contrast of her black-and-red costume against that pale skin gives the image an almost painted intensity. With J. H. Williams III and W. Haden Blackman guiding the story titled "This Blood Is Thick: Wounds," this issue promises the kind of dark, emotionally charged storytelling that has made this run so compelling.
