Battlestar Galactica #21

The cover of this November 1980 Marvel issue says it all: a massive, terrifying red creature looms over a group of desperate humans — including Apollo — who fire their weapons in a frantic bid to survive, with the bold tagline "To Slay a Monster…To Destroy a World!" promising serious stakes. Brent Anderson's pencils and Klaus Janson's inks deliver a genuinely menacing beast, all sinew and shadow, that dwarfs the colonists scrambling beneath it. With Steven Grant and Walt Simonson sharing writing duties and Anderson handling interior art as well, this installment of Marvel's Battlestar Galactica series looks like one of Apollo's roughest days in the fleet.
