“Batman: Year One Chapter One: Who I Am How I Came to Be”

In "Batman: Year One Chapter One: Who I Am How I Came to Be," Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli launch a definitive origin story where a young Bruce Wayne and a determined new detective, Gordon, each arrive in Gotham with their own missions. As Gordon confronts a deeply corrupt police force and Bruce faces a brutal street fight that leaves him wounded, a sudden bat flying through his window becomes a pivotal moment of clarity. The striking cover by David Mazzucchelli captures the intensity of this turning point, setting the tone for a story that redefined the Dark Knight’s beginnings.
