Batman: White Knight #2

The second chapter of Sean Murphy's eight-part series arrives with a cover that immediately sets the tone: Batman looms large and shadowy at the top, while below him a solitary figure sits with head bowed at a desk absolutely crammed with Batman-related imagery — newspaper clippings, framed pictures, figurines, a bat-symbol clock, candles burning at every corner. The obsessive, candlelit room feels equal parts shrine and war room, and Murphy's meticulous linework, colored atmospherically by Matt Hollingsworth, gives the whole scene an unsettling intimacy. It's a genuinely striking image that makes issue two of this DC miniseries feel like must-read territory.
