Batman: The Greatest Stories Ever Told #1
"Origin" in Batman: The Greatest Stories Ever Told #1 (2005) presents a haunting psychological trial for Batman, testing his resolve in isolation—only to plunge him into a nightmare where he witnesses Robin's death in a simulated crisis. Written by Bill Finger and illustrated by Sheldon Moldoff, with inks by Charles Paris and lettering by Stan Starkman, the story explores the emotional toll of loss and the fragile line between simulation and reality. Alex Ross’s iconic cover captures the weight of that moment, a stark visual echo of the inner turmoil to come.
