Batman: The Drowned #1
In "Rime of the Ancient Mariner," Dan Abnett and artists Philip Tan and Tyler Kirkham launch a chilling chapter in the Batman: The Drowned saga, introducing Bryce Wayne—a ruthless, reimagined Batman from Earth-11—whose tragic past drives her to transform into a sea-born warrior. Cover by Jason Fabok, this 2017 issue sees her clash with Aquaman and Mera in Amnesty Bay after being sent from her world by the Batman Who Laughs, setting a dark, aquatic tone that redefines what it means to be a hero—or a monster.

Bryce Wayne, a female version of Batman (Batwoman?) from Earth -11, having murdered other meta-humans on that world that she held responsible for the death of her love Sylvester Kyle, faces a new threat from Aquawoman and the armies of Atlantis. Bryce surgically alters herself to become a water-breather with control over the seas, which she uses to defeat the Atlanteans and kill Aquawoman. Recruited by the Batman Who Laughs, she travels to Earth 0 and attacks Amnesty Bay, where she is confronted by Aquaman and Mera.
