Batman / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #2

The third crossover series between Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles rolls on with this 2019 issue, and the cover by Freddie E. Williams II makes a striking first impression — Batman's cowled face looms in close-up while all four Turtles (Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo, weapons drawn) emerge from the shadows behind him, a swarm of bats drifting through the grey sky above. Writer James Tynion IV and artist Williams II continue "Crisis in a Half Shell, Part 2," promising more of the sharp storytelling that made this DC/IDW collaboration such a treat. If you're following this unlikely but thoroughly entertaining team-up, issue #2 keeps the momentum going in fine style.
