Batman / Superman #4

From writer Greg Pak and artist Jae Lee comes this fourth chapter of their New 52 team-up saga, "Refracted." Jae Lee's cover is a striking composition set against a churning orange sky, where a younger, casually dressed Superman ascends while gripping Batman, and below them their counterparts — another Superman and a shadowy Batman — grapple amid what appears to be a winged figure and additional cloaked characters. The sense of doubled heroes caught in conflict gives the whole image a genuinely unsettling energy that makes flipping to page one feel urgent.
