Batman: Shadow of the Bat #57
In "Leaves of Grass, Part 2: Reefer Madness," Poison Ivy confronts Jason Woodrue—the Floronic Man—uncovering his role as the source of Gotham’s flood of genetically enhanced marijuana. As Woodrue claims marijuana can save the world, he enlists Ivy’s blood to birth a new life form, while Batman is ambushed and knocked out by Holly and Eva. Meanwhile, Tim Drake’s efforts to help his friend Norris, who’s suffering a dangerous reaction to the drug, grow more urgent. Written by Alan Grant and illustrated by Dave Taylor, with inks by Stan Woch and colors by Pam Rambo and Android Images, the issue’s striking cover by Duncan Fegredo captures the eerie, overgrown tension of the story.
