Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #189
The penultimate chapter of "Riddle Me That" reaches its conclusion with issue #189 of Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, and Sean Phillips's cover sets the tension perfectly — Batman is locked in a brutal close-quarters struggle with a masked figure sporting a tell-tale question-mark ring, their bodies pressed together in a raw, almost suffocating grapple. The muted palette and tight composition give the scene a gritty, noir intensity that suits this long-running series well. With Shane McCarthy writing and Tommy Castillo on interior art, this 2005 closer to a five-part Riddler-tinged arc is a satisfying addition to any Dark Knight collection.
