Found by John Constantine, who tells him the Joker is dead, Batman must piece together the truth behind his injuries and the mysterious events that led to the clown prince's demise. Written by Brian Azzarello and Olav Beemer, with all interior art, inks, and colors by Lee Bermejo, and lettered by Beemer, the issue’s stark, moody visuals and relentless pace set a haunting tone from the first page. The cover, also by Lee Bermejo, captures the grim intensity of the story’s opening moments.
